Lake Zurich resident Jan Flood Dowling, a former staff member of the Ela Township Assessor’s Office, has been appointed township clerk following the retirement of longtime clerk Bill Donnan. She will serve through May 15.
On being appointed township clerk, Flood Dowling said, “I look forward to getting everything organized in the office and working on my official duties, including recording the minutes of township board meetings and supervising voter registration and early voting.”
Flood Dowling is a Certified Illinois Assessment Officer with 10 years of township experience. In addition to working for the Ela Township Assessor’s Office from 2010 to 2017, she previously served as Deputy Assessor for Vernon Township from 1995 to 1998. She resigned from the Ela Township Assessor’s Office upon her appointment as clerk.
Additionally, Flood Dowling has been a licensed real estate broker since 1996 and is a member of Illinois Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. She also owns her own real estate brokerage firm.
Flood Dowling is married to husband Joe. Their family includes four married sons, two granddaughters, one grandson and two Goldendoodle puppies.
