Gloria Palmblad, Supervisor

Biographical Information: Gloria and her husband Rich have been residents of Ela Township and Lake Zurich since 1980. They have one son. The couple has owned SIGNscapes in Lake Zurich since 2002. Gloria has been quite active in her community over the years. She served as Lake Zurich Village Clerk from 1999 to 2009 and was appointed Ela Township Trustee in 2014. In April 2017, Gloria was elected Ela Township Supervisor. She chairs the Community Family Services Committee, Youth Committee and Communication Committee.
Gloria has served on the Lake Zurich Baseball & Softball (LZBSA) Board since 1994 in a variety of capacities including commissioner from 1999 to 2001. She has been administrative secretary since 2001. Gloria was recognized as Honorary Lake Zurich Lions Club member for organization of Alpinefest Parade from 1993-2005 and was awarded Outstanding Public Servant by the Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce in 2006. She is a member of St. Francis de Sales Church in Lake Zurich.
Lucy A. Prouty, Clerk
Biographical Information: Lucy lives in Lake Zurich with her husband Don and has proudly been an Ela Township resident for over 60 years. She has worked for the people of Ela Township for 27 years in the capacities of trustee, clerk and supervisor. She was elected Ela Township Clerk in April 2017 after serving three terms as Supervisor.
Lucy was voted “Public Servant of the Year” by the Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce in 2005 and named “Supervisor of the Year” by the Illinois Township Association of Senior Citizen Services Committee (ITASCSC) in 2014. She has also served on the State Board of Supervisors and the Board of Directors for the Township Officials of Illinois, on the Board of Directors for the Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce, and the panel for the Lake Zurich Chamber’s Young Entrepreneurs Academy program.
John Barrington, Township Assessor

Biographical Information: John and his wife live in Hawthorn Woods with their five children. They are members of the Chapel of Lake Zurich. John has been with Ela Township since 2005 and was elected Assessor in 2009. He was elected to a third term in April 2017.
John, who received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Illinois University with a minor in Political Science, is a Certified Illinois Assessment Officer with over 300 hours of education. He is responsible for the fair valuation of over 17,000 commercial, industrial, and residential properties with a market value in excess of $7 billion. He serves as Legislative Committee Chair for the Lake County Township Assessors Association and is a member of the International Association of Assessing Officers and the Illinois Assessors Association. He is also an Ela Township Precinct Committeeman and Vice Chairman.
Before joining the Ela Township Assessor’s Office, John served as a U.S. Navy Fleet Marine Force Corpsman, completing two tours of duty in Iraq and was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon among numerous other citations. John is a charter member of the Tri County Leathernecks Detachment of the Marine Corps League, a member of the Lake Zurich American Legion and VFW, a member of the Lake County Medical Reserve Corps, and a member of the Lake Zurich Lions Club.
One of John’s main goals is to be a resource for Ela Township residents to help them understand the assessment and appeals process. He offers outreach sessions, public forums and is available for speaking engagements in an effort to help educate you, the taxpayer. Bill Kruckenberg, Highway Commissioner

Biographical Information: Bill has been an Ela Township resident for 37 years. He lives in unincorporated Hawthorn Woods with his wife, Rhonda. They have two children and are proud grandparents.
Bill was first elected Ela Township Highway Commissioner in 2001. He was elected to a fifth term in April 2017. He previously served as a Hawthorn Woods Trustee and was on the village’s Architectural Commission. Bill is FEMA Emergency Management Certified and a volunteer for Lake Zurich Emergency Management. He previously serve as an Ela Township Precinct Committeeman.
As Ela Township Highway Commissioner, Bill maintains the township buildings, parks, and cemeteries and is currently making drainage improvements throughout the township to help reduce flooding for residents. He is certified through the Township Highway Commissioners of Illinois’ Voluntary Certification Program and has over 100 hours of continuing education in highway management.
Lawrence Bowman, Trustee
Biographical Information: Larry lives in Kildeer with his wife and has been an Ela Township resident for 23 years. The couple has four children. Larry was first elected Ela Township Trustee in 2009 and was elected to a third term in April 2017.
Committed to community service, Larry also serves on the Village of Kildeer’s Planning and Zoning Commission, is a Lake County Election Judge and is past vice president of the Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce.
Larry is the founder and director of clinical operations for three local physical therapy and rehab clinics and a member of the professional advisory board for a local ADHD group. He is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and past CEO and director of national and international operations for AEC/Sterling.
Joel Sikes, Trustee
Biographical Information: Joel was raised in Ela Township and still lives in Lake Zurich today. He is a proud graduate of Lake Zurich High School. Joel was appointed Ela Township Trustee in 2016 and elected to the board in April 2017. Since he was raised in the area, Joel has developed a close connection to the community and is thrilled to give back by serving Ela Township as a trustee.
Joel is a member of the Lake County Housing and Community Development Commission, an Ela Township Precinct Committeeman, Vice President of Lake County Young Republicans and a member of the Lake County Republican Federation’s Board of Governors. He is also a founding member of Ekkekko, a nonprofit microfinance organization.
Joel has previously worked with a number of community/nonprofit organizations. One such nonprofit, Gifts for Grunts, was organized by one of his brothers and a group of LZHS graduates. While in high school, Joel organized the Gift for Grunts pen pal program through Lake Zurich Community Unit School District 95 and coordinated their fundraising programs through the LZHS football team and school band. He is an Eagle Scout and former adult volunteer for Boy Scout Troop 92 of Hawthorn Woods.
Michael Jennings, Trustee
Biographical Information: Mike, who has been married for 35 years, has lived in Forest Lake for 33 years and has owned an area business since 1993. He is also a member of St. Peter UCC. In addition, Mike has served as an elected Ela Township Precinct Committeeman and has been a Forest Lake Homeowners Board member since 2013. Mike retired as a Skokie firefighter/paramedic after 26 years. The Army veteran was also employed by the Department of Navy for three years and Department of Air Force for six years.
Chris Bos, Trustee
Biographical Information: Chris, who is married with three children, has been a Lake Zurich resident for 17 years. He is a pastor at Alpine Chapel and has been in nonprofit leadership for 17 years.
Chris has also served as an Ela Township Precinct Committeeman, is a Sarah Adams PTO volunteer and also volunteers at local food pantries. He is a past volunteer coach for Ela Soccer and KITS. He attended Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
