All classes and activities for our Ela 55+ programming take place at the Ela Township Community Center (except for Day Trips, Long Distance Trips, and offsite programming)

What volunteering options do you offer?
We offer year round volunteering opportunities. You can help K-5th graders with school work at our Homework Club, or become a volunteer summer camp counselor in training. Be sure to check out our Youth Volunteering Opportunities page for more details, dates, and times!
Where do the Youth programs take place?
With the exception of Teen Club and Summer Camp, all of the Youth programs take place at the Ela Township Community Center. Teen Club takes place at the Foglia YMCA, and Summer Camp is run out of Knox Park.
Does Ela Township offer a lending closet?
The Ela Township Community Family Services department has a vast lending closet available to Township residents full of gently used equipment. Click here for more information.
What is the Ela Township Bus service area?
Anywhere within Ela Township boundaries, in addition to Good Shepherd Hospital (and doctors in the surrounding area) and the Barrington Train Station.
How much does it cost to use the Ela Township Bus service??
$2.00 for a one-way ride, $4.00 for a round trip ride, and one additional stop can be made for $1.00.
Can anyone use the Ela Township Senior & Disabled Bus Service?
Unfortunately not, the Ela Township Senior & Disabled Bus service is for Ela Township residents only.
Does the Township offer transportation service for seniors or those with disabilities?

When does the tax bill get sent out?
Tax bills are typically mailed the first part of May, with due dates in early June and September. Duplicate copies of the tax bills are available online once the bills are mailed.
