Joel Sikes

Joel was raised in Ela Township and still lives in Lake Zurich today. He is a proud graduate of Lake Zurich High School and has served as an Ela Township Trustee since 2015. Since he was raised in the area, Joel has developed a close connection to the community and is thrilled to give back by serving Ela Township as a trustee.

Joel is a former member of the Lake County Housing and Community Development Commission, an Ela Township Precinct Committeeman, and a member of the Lake County Republican Federation’s Board of Governors. He is also a founding member of Ekkekko, a nonprofit microfinance organization.

Joel has previously worked with a number of community and nonprofit organizations. One such nonprofit, Gifts for Grunts, was organized by one of his brothers and a group of LZHS graduates. While in high school, Joel organized the Gift for Grunts pen pal program through Lake Zurich Community Unit School District 95 and coordinated their fundraising programs through the LZHS football team and school band. He is an Eagle Scout and former adult volunteer for Boy Scout Troop 92 of Hawthorn Woods.
