Ela Township “55 Plus” is dedicated to providing the highest quality recreational, social and supportive services to adults 55 and older residing in Ela Township. It is our goal to foster a warm environment where individuals can explore and enjoy activities and services designed to meet the needs and enrich the lives of our diverse older adult population.

Membership: Membership into Ela Township “55 Plus” is free to all residents in Ela Township 55 and older. If you would like to sign up, please print and complete the membership form and bring it to our center at 380 Surryse Road, Lake Zurich, 60047. You can also complete our membership form online and email it to

Guest Membership Policy: For an annual fee of $35 per person, those residing outside Ela Township can enjoy the same programs and services offered free to Ela residents. This fee will help offset the cost for guests using these services. Guest members will still pay guest rates on all fee- based programs, as this will be the non-subsidized rate. The $35 covers one calendar year from January through December. Anyone who paid the $35 for 2016 will need to pay again for any programming in 2017.

LENDING CLOSET: Did you know Ela Township has medical equipment to lend to residents including walkers (with or without wheels), crutches, canes, wheelchairs, toilet risers, shower chairs and more? Donations of clean, gently used equipment are also appreciated. The Lending Closet is located at the Ela Township Town Hall at 1155 E. Rte. 22, in Lake Zurich. Call 847-438-7823.
